Welcome, President Elect — Donald Trump.
What a frigging week it’s been. The atmosphere here in LA has been palpable and many are shocked, shaken, disturbed and disillusioned. One word people: Brexit. I feel ya!
Welcome, President Elect — Donald Trump.

Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?
It’s a couple of mornings after the night before and I can’t say any of us have come down yet. Halloween here in LA is one of the most outrageous, hilarious, indulgent, and hands down FUN nights of the year. It’s a big one people and it was on a school night and we’re flipping knackered (which means exhausted in English).
I’m utterly baffled – yet again. Have you ever had those moments where you wonder if you are actually awake or dreaming? When the scenario in which you find your life is so completely weird that for a moment you a scared there’s something very wrong?
I am English. I speak English. I vote in England. I even took English A Level and was nationally graded (quite well, I might add) in this subject. I have studied many a Jane Austin novel and visited Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London as a native and not a tourist. I’ve even been known to quote the odd Shakespeare in my day-to-day lingo (Friends, Husband, Children – LEND ME YOUR EARS!)
Stop Press! It happened, we did it! We just celebrated our first anniversary in LA. WHOO HOOOOOOO!!! And what a year it’s been! This is a very nostalgic post to write and I’m struggling with the tone. It’s been monumental and I don’t know how I can possibly put it into words that might suffice.
It’s impossible to believe that we have just completed our first academic year here in LA. The fact that we’re still in June makes it all the more bizarre because school here breaks up over a month earlier than London so I feel cheated and disoriented (again)!
Something usually triggers me to write my next update and I can never predict what on earth that might be…
Today, I take to my keyboard following an unexpectedly freakish Mother / Daughter trip. My baby turned 12 and was promised a special outing to get her ears pierced. I tell you this child has waited her entire 12 years for this moment and who am I to disappoint? Continue Reading
So it’s been a while since my last update. I like to write when I have lots of news to fill you in on, rather than fill up your inboxes with zero information. Since my last update so much has happened and we’ve experienced so much. Where to start… Continue Reading
I don’t think we’ll ever be the same again.
We have now experienced Homecoming, (the all-American, very patriotic, all singing, all dancing extravaganza), Halloween LA style, (which literally took over the World), and my 13 year old daughter was instructed by her Volleyball teacher to, “get up and shag the balls!” (apparently, in American, this means to “collect the balls at the end of the game”).

Hello from LaLa Land! WE DID IT!! Whoohooooo!!
What a few weeks it’s been. The amount we have all experienced – all the changes and newness – has been so monumental, it’s hard to believe we’ve only been here a month.
